Journal of Folklore Research

The ''Journal of Folklore Research: An International Journal of Folklore and Ethnomusicology'' is a peer-reviewed academic journal of folklore, folklife, and ethnomusicology.
== History ==
The journal was established in 1942 as the ''Hoosier Folklore Bulletin'' and continued in 1945 as ''Hoosier Folklore''. It was renamed in 1951 as ''Midwest Folklore'' () and continued from 1964 to 1982 as the ''Journal of the Folklore Institute'' ().
The ''Journal of Folklore Research'' also publishes reviews of recently published scholarly works in folkloristics and ethnomusicology. These reviews are not published in the print version of the journal but are published exclusively online and freely available without a subscription.
